Information About Individual

On 6 July 1837, Louisa Johanna Caroline Maltzahn was born in Mecklenburg, Nordwestmecklenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Her Christening was held in Rosenow, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany three days later on 9 July 1837.

In 1858, Louisa was living in Rosenow, Posen. On May 15 of that year, she emigrated from Germany. On 6 July 1858—her 21st birthday— Louisa arrived in New York City aboard the Elba. By 1870, she was living in Kochville Township near Saginaw, Michigan. She had married Heinrich Carl Theodor Friedrich Langlass and had six children by 1870.

By 1880, she and her husband had moved to 329 N 10th Street, in East Saginaw, Michigan. She would remain in this home until she died on 8 March 1903. However, due to an annexation in 1889, she was now living in Saginaw, Michigan.

Louisa was buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery on 10 March 1903.
